Elizabeth "Betty" Margaret Dow
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth "Betty" Margaret Dow, age 77, of Amherst. Betty passed peacefully at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Saturday, June 27, 2015.
Born in Amherst, NS, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Dora (Sarson) LeBlanc.
Betty enjoyed time outdoors tending to her plants and her yard. She loved making crafts, reading, and playing cards; she loved cats, especially Fluffy, that she took in and cared for. First and foremost were her family. She had a strong work ethic and made sure that everyone around her was cared for, like her mother whom she kept comfortable in her home until she passed.
She will be sadly missed by children Sharon Dow, Amherst, Bruce Dow, Leamington, ON, Kim Dow (David Fraser), Timothy Dow (Nancy Richard), Amherst; grandson Keven; sisters Ruth Jackson, Whitby, ON; Norma McClellan (Jim), Wheatley, ON; best friend Aubrey "Hogie".
She was predeceased by her son Kevin; brother Donnie LeBlanc.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St, Amherst, NS, (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place on Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm. Betty's funeral service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 2 pm, Rev. Byron Corkum officiating. Following a reception, burial will take place in the Saint-Charles Nativity Cemetery.
