The death of Stella Mae Roberts, 82, of Joggins, occurred on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Maccan, Stella was a daughter of the late Frank and Annie (Hurley) Arseneau.
Stella loved Bingo and playing cards. She was a member of the Rebekka Lodge and a member of the River Hebert Legion and the Ladies Auxilliary for over 30 years. Her favorite past times included taking a drive in the country and getting ice cream.
She will be dearly missed by her husband of fifty-five years, Conrad Roberts of Joggins; sons Frank (Doreen), Amherst, Kenny (Kelly), Joggins, Joseph (Donna), Sunrise Trail; daughter Bonnie (Bill McClary) Roberts, River Hebert; four grandchildren, Ashley, Kyle, Jason, Holly; two great grandchildren, Harper and Haisley; a brother, Bud, of Moncton; sisters Jean (Albert) Stanley, Maccan; a daughter-in-law, Debbie, Canning, and two special nieces, Wendy and Anne.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Emelia, a son, Clifford; sisters Emma Marks and Dorothy O'Brien; and brothers Austin, Gilbert, Danny and John.
Arrangements are under the care and supervision of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, River Hebert (902-667-8777) from where a time of visitation will be held on Friday, July 3, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held from the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst on Saturday at 11 am. Burial to follow in the Maccan Cemetery. Rev. Lynda MacCulloch officiating. Following the interment, a reception will be held at the River Hebert Legion.
Donations in memory of Stella may be made to the Maccan Cemetery or Palliative Care.
