Muriel Hampton

HAMPTON, MURIEL ALBERTA
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Muriel Alberta (Lackie) Hampton which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, July 8th, 2015. Born 1933, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late S. Royden and Mary Emma (Hueston) Lackie.
Muriel enjoyed working for many years for Lockhart Building Supplies, Bayview Credit Union and Michael H. Bruce Insurance.
She loved to knit, making sweaters for many family members and friends and her love of travel was limited only by her health and lack of resources.
Muriel is survived by her sons David (Deborah) of Quispamsis, William (Sandra) of Calgary, AB, Robert (Cindy) of Quispamsis; daughters Mary Lou Yax (Michael) of Michigan, Barbara Beaugrand of Calgary; sister Eleanor Tayes (John) of Hampton; sister-in-law Sandra Lackie of Saint John; grandchildren Marci, Sara, Garrett, Kendall, Stephanie, Joshua, and Jacob; great grandchildren Mylo and MacKenzie; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides her parents, Muriel was predeceased by her husband Harry and brothers Royden (Esther) and Allen Lackie.
Special thanks to Dr. Mary Jarratt, Dr. Sean Dolan, KV Extra-Mural Nurses, Dr. Julia Wildish ans all the amazing nurses and doctors in the 3BN Palliative Care Unit at the Regional Hospital. You’re the Very Best!
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Monday at 1 p.m. followed by an interment at Fernhill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Muriel’s memory may be made to the SJ Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Chrohn’s & Colitis Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
