William 'Billy'  Antle

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Billy Antle, 81, on Wednesday July 8, 2015 at home in Coxheath, surrounded by his loving family.
Born Jan. 16, 1934 he was the son of the late William and Mary (Burke) Antle.
He was a longtime active member of Cape Breton Ground Search and Rescue, which was formed one month after he was lost in the woods in Wreck Cove, in 1969. Billy was also involved in Project Life Saver and volunteered his time with the Sydney pensioners, and Aliant Pioneers. He enjoyed baseball, curling, hockey, darts, bowling and shuffleboard.
He loved to spend his summers at his cottage in Big Pond.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Patsy (MacLeod) ; his children Beryl (Wayne) Brewer, Brenda Evong (Frank) Robert (Nancy), Nancy (Sam) MacInnis, Ronnie (Jolene) and Lisa Vigneau. 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, brother Harold (Irene) ,sisters Doddy (John) MacLeod, Anne Burke, and sister in law Rena.
Besides his parents he is predeceased by his brother Bernie and brother in law, Leo Burke.
Special thanks to our great neighbors for all their help Derrick, Ed, and Larry. The staff in Renal Dialysis and his family doctor Murdock Smith.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cape Breton Ground Search and Rescue or Renal Dialysis.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Sunday July 12, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St. Sydney. Funeral mass will be held on Monday July 13, at 2pm at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, with Fr. Duaine Devereaux officiating. Private family burial to take place at a later date.
