Frederick William Paul, age 62 of Pictou Landing First Nation, passed away on Saturday July 11, 2015 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late James and Mary Jean (Prosper) Paul.
Frederick was a lifelong resident of Pictou Landing First Nation.
He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church.
During his working life, he worked as a deckhand on a fishing boat.
He enjoyed playing the guitar, drawing, the outdoors and camping.
Frederick was a Shubenacadie Residential School survivor.
Surviving are his children: Alisha Moors of Dartmouth, Jason Paul of Trenton, and Christopher Paul; Niece and Godchild Beverly (Wayne) Denny;
Nieces and nephews: Dion (Jennifer) Paul, Pamela (Derek) Paul, Shannon (Adam) Paul, and Sheldon (Jillian) Paul, all of Pictou Landing First Nation;
Great nieces and nephews: Farrah, Tyra, Bryden, Adrienne, James, Derek, Taylor, Candace, Tracey, Wayne, Calvin, Adam, Brody, Sheldon, Marlee and Tatum; A brother Daniel Paul of Pictou Landing First Nation.
He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Sarah Paul, Mary Agnus Paul and a brother Howard Joseph Paul.
His remains will rest in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Pictou Landing First Nation for visitation after 2 p.m. on Monday.
From where funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Father Gary MacPherson officiating.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Donations in memory of Frederick may be made to the Pictou County S.P.C.A.
