Cynthia Gwendolyn Mitchell passed peacefully on Thursday, July 9th at St. Patrick's Mercy Home. Cynthia was born in St. John's on February 8. 1921. She was the beloved daughter of the late Queen and Hiram Young. Predeceased by Robert, her devoted husband of 63 years, brothers Ross, Eugene and Alfred and sisters Ruby Hynes, Allison Peckford and Geraldine Mulley. She leaves behind her son Sheldon (Sharon Driscoll), daughter Jill (Michael O'Reilly), grandson Mitchell O'Reilly, sisters Roberta Bugden and Grace Stapleton as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She was often known to reminisce about the many wonderful hours she spent baby-sitting her many nieces and nephews. She will be missed. Visitation will be held from Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue from 1pm-2pm on Thursday, July 16, 2015. A Memorial Service will take place at Barrett's Chapel on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at The General Protestant Cemetery, Waterford Bridge Rd.
