McFEE, IAN DUNCAN
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Ian Duncan McFee which occurred peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, July 28th, 2015, after a long and courageous battle with Cancer with his loving wife Shirley by his side. Born 1950, in Saint John, he was the son of C. Hubert and the late Hope (Pelkey) McFee.
Ian worked as a Steel Fabricator and an Industrial Painter. He was employed for many years at the Saint John Dry Dock and Kelson & Kelson for several years. Ian was a former member of the Atlantic Alliance of Marine Artists, the Fundy Gallery of Art and the Saint John Art Club. He was a Master Model Shipbuilder. Ian served in the French Foreign Legion and the Royal Canadian Navy. He enjoyed fishing and loved his special cat Precious.
Ian is survived by his loving wife Shirley March of 22 years; step-son Kevin Moore of Coles Island; step-grandson Brandon Moore; step-great-grandson Jaiden Moore; daughter Jennifer; as well several aunts, cousins and friends.
Besides his mother, Ian was predeceased by his step-son Gary Moore.
Many thanks to the doctors and staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Per Ian’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
