ROGERS, JOHN
It is with great sadness that the family of John Philip Rogers (Poppy), age 75, announce his death, which occurred on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at his residence in Erb’s Cove, NB. Poppy was born on April 27, 1940 in Grand Falls, NL, the son of the late Bill and Elizabeth Rogers.
Upon retiring from the Metropolitan Toronto Police, Poppy moved to New Brunswick where he enjoyed wood working, reading, taking pictures and listening to music.
Poppy was dearly loved by his daughters Luella (Ross) Erb of Erb’s Cove, NB and Julie Fitzgerald of Calgary, AB; grandchildren Jeffrey (Holly) Erb of Pine Lake, AB, Stephanie Erb of Erb’s Cove, NB, Jessica and Jenna Fitzgerald of Calgary, AB; great-grandchildren Brandon and Hailey Erb of Pine Lake, AB. He was predeceased by his loving partner Velma Hall.
He is resting at Reid’s Funeral Home, 1063 Main Street, Hampton, (506) 832-5541, with visitation on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Jack Willett, will be held from Erb’s Cove Baptist Church on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 11 AM. Interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery.
