Thomas West passed peacefully away after a short illness in the presence of his loving family at A.M. Guy Memorial Hospital, Buchans at the age of 87. Formerly of Little Bay East, he lived most of his life in Buchans. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus member and was also a member of the Buchans Lions Club for 42 years. In earlier years, he was a member of the Boy's and Girl's Club. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Elizabeth (2003); his parents, Waldermar and Elise West; sister, Emily; and brother, Gary. He leaves to mourn his children, Tom (Diane) West, Gary West, Debbie (Brett) Beaucage, Vivian (Bill) Kelly, Juanita (Howie) Lethbridge, Jennifer (Jerome) Ricketts, Perry (Elaine) West, Greg (Loretta) West, Chris (Maria) West, and Dave (Cindy) West. Also left to mourn are his brother, Stan (Nina) West; sisters, Rev Vivian Smith, Goldie (Max) Rodway, and Olive Babstock; grandchildren, Gary, Dean, Barry, Jonathan, Chris, Pam, Brittany, Mike, Samantha, Meagan, Jessica, Justin, Maiya, Christianna, and Judy; step-grandchildren, Les, Sherrill, and Howie; great-grandchildren, Leah, James, Aubree, Tanner, Alyson, Alex, Ava, and Henry. The funeral service will take place on Monday, August 3rd, 2015 from St. Theresa's Parish in Buchans at 11am. Donations may be made in Thomas's memory to the cemetery fund.
