It is with broken hearts and great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of our beloved son, father, brother, uncle and friend. Jamie passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 25, 2015, as the result of a tragic car accident in Edmonton, Alta.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the beloved son of Patricia (Gordon Brann) MacDougall and Robbie (Patricia) Steele.
Jamie was a kind hearted, outgoing young man who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed his time spent with his son, Jase, who was the love of his life. Jamie was a true outdoorsman, enjoying his times camping and hunting. He was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan and was a member of local 92 Labourers Union in Edmonton, Alta.
Besides his parents, Jamie is survived by his pride and joy, his son, Jase; partner, Alyssa; sisters, Tara (Randy) Neary, Kayla (Garrett), Kindra and Kristen; brothers, Shamus (Cara), TJ, Robert; stepsister, Deanna; stepbrother, Justin; nephew, Brody; grandmothers, Mary Turnbull, Bev Currie, Ruth Brann and grandparents, Mary and Thomas Evely; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; especially his best friend, Karl O’Connell
Jamie was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Sharon "Moma” Steele and Michael Steele; and his paternal grandfather, Gerald Turnbull.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Monday, Aug. 3, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J.McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines.
