BLIZZARD, ALFRED CLAIR JR.
It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Alfred Blizzard Jr., of Fredericton and formerly of Tracy, at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital on August 2, 2015. Alfred was born and raised in Tracy, on January 6, 1928 to the late Edith (Tracy) and Alfred Blizzard Sr.
Alfred is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Elinor (Bowles), his daughter Catherine “Cathy” and (Dany) Falle and his son Daniel “Dan” Blizzard. Two sisters, Marlene Fallu and Rose Mary Nixon, Two Brothers, Tracy (Betty) and Milo (Marge) Blizzard, one granddaughter Marie-Lise Bessette-Blizzard and several nieces and nephews.
Alfred retired from the CPR as a station agent, working both in New Brunswick and in Maine. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #55, where he served as Padre for 17 years. He was also a life member of the Gladstone Curling Club and a retired Diocesan Lay Reader. Alfred loved to watch a good game of hockey or baseball and would keep up on local and world news every evening. Alfred will be remembered by many as a “professional hugger”, he enjoyed both giving and receiving hugs from his family and many friends.
Visitations will take place at St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Tracy, on Wednesday, August 5th, 2015 from 4pm to 8 pm. Funeral service will also be at St. Mark’s Anglican Church on Thursday, August 6th at 12 noon with Reverend Canon Kevin Stockall officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mark’s Anglican Cemetery.
