ROULSTON, SISTER ALINE MARGARET (SISTER ROBERT MARIE)
The death of Sister Aline Margaret Roulston occurred at Ruth Ross Residence on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Sister Aline Margaret Roulston (Sister Robert Marie) was born in Vancouver, BC, a daughter of the late Robert and Marie (Plissonneau) Roulston.
Aline was a teacher by profession before she entered the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception on September 8, 1949. Sister Robert Marie began her teaching ministry, where she taught French at Holy Trinity and St. Joseph’s Schools before moving to St. Vincent’s High School where she also served as the Guidance Counselor. After retiring from classroom teaching in 1979, Sister Aline moved to Edmonton, Alberta where she was the Formation Director and a member on the Leadership Council for the Sisters of Charity from 1980 to 1985. She also was a tutor at the Learning Centre Literacy Association. She was also involved in Religious Education programs at St. Alphonsus Church. Aline had a great love for the First Nations People and visited many of their communities in rural Alberta. Sister Aline returned to Saint John in 2006 and resided at Ruth Ross Residence.
She is survived by her sister, Miss Marise Roulston of Vancouver, BC; several cousins in France and England.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by brother, Hugh Roulston.
Resting at Ruth Ross Residence with visiting on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm with a Prayer Vigil at 7 pm Carmel Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Ruth Ross Residence, Carmel Chapel on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 10 am. Interment will take place in the Sisters of Charity Plot at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street (634-1965) fitzpatrickfh.com.
