Edward Kostka
1936 – 2015

Edward was born January 11, 1936 at Claytonville, SK, and passed away peacefully on August 10, 2015 at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK. After attending school at Claytonville, Edward remained and worked on the family farm and continued living there with his mother after his father’s death in 1978. He suffered a heart attack in 2004 and eventually moved to an assisted living facility in Prince Albert in 2010 where he remained until his recent hospitalization in July. Edward always looked forward to visiting with his friends whether over coffee or on the phone. Family gatherings were always a highlight. Attending P.A. Raider games and following their progress as well as watching baseball and hockey on TV were a favorite pastime. Edward is survived by his brother Joe (Irene); his niece Paula (Darren) Sundbo & their children, Evan and Kennedi and nephew Brian (Aida) Kostka and their children Taddeus Norkis-Kostka and Lucas Norkis-Kostka. Edward was predeceased by his parents Kazimir and Bertha. The family wishes to thank the Sunnyville Care Home, Drs. at the P.A. Community Clinic and staff at the Victoria Hospital for their dedicated and loving care. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2015 at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 589 – 9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Reverend Father Michael Fahlman. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 – 3rd Avenue N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8.
