Raby, Joseph Rene Jean-Jacques
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jean-Jacques (JJ) Raby of Fredericton, husband of Gisele Daigle, on August 17, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. He was born on November 24, 1948 at home in Buckingham, PQ to the late Rene and Juliette (Lavergne) Raby.
Besides his wife, Jean-Jacques is survived by the mother of his children, Emily Raby of Fredericton; daughters, Dominique (Heath) Stockford of Newbrook, AB, Jennifer (James) Harnish of Beaverdam, NB; son, Julien Raby (Erin) of Quispamsis, NB; stepchildren, Shawn Bouchard (Lisa), Katina Bouchard Morris (Adam) of Delaware, USA; his siblings, Lucie, Pierre-Andre, Denis, Jules, Danielle, Carole and Michelle; grandchildren, Alexzandrea, Maddy, Gavin, Kash, Austin, Emilie, Wesley, Mya, Nikki, Ennis, Savannah, Noah, Sienna amd Audric; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Madeleine, Monique, and Benoit.
After serving as a medic in the Canadian Armed Forces, Jean-Jacques continued his career in the medical field in various capacities as an orderly, ambulance attendant and adaptive seating technician. Due to chronic illness, he was forced to end his medical career and retired as a mailroom worker at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.
Jean-Jacques was a devoted father and grandfather. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors canoeing, fishing, cross-country skiing, playing softball as well as bowling and watching hockey games on TV.
There will be no visitation or funeral by request. For those who wish, memorial tributes can be made to the Lung Association of New Brunswick. Arrangements have been entrusted to McAdam’s Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton, NB.
