Harold "Duane" Hayden
HAYDEN, HAROLD "DUANE"
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harold “Duane” Hayden. After putting up a strong battle, Duane left us to seek peace on Wednesday, August 19th, 2015, at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital.
Born on 21 December, 1955, in Wolfeville, Nova Scotia, he was the son of Harold Hayden and Joan Ivey, both predeceased.
He is survived by his sons Terry and Colin Petitpas; sister Dar Richer and her husband Charlie; niece Sheena Caissie; nephew Jason Hayden and wife Aleta and their sons Jordan Grant and Chase Hayden.
Duane was a very gentle, soft spoken kind soul whose biggest passions in life have always been music and sports. In his younger years, Duane played the drums in a few different bands; the most commonly known one “Blackjack”. He was a very talented drummer who thoroughly enjoyed playing shows at local venues throughout the province. Duane was the driving force behind organizing and supporting his beloved ball hockey league at the base in Oromocto for years. Duane played centre, which comes as no surprise, given his quick hands and powerful shot. Duane’s greatest passion was playing and teaching the game of pool. Duane was a renowned pool shot and member of Dooly’s in Oromocto. His love of the game and pure ability allowed for him to share his talent with others, giving pool lessons at the Dooly’s in Oromocto and Fredericton.
At the request of the family, there will be an intimate service for immediate family and closest friends.
We love you Duane, you will be forever missed. Rest easy until we meet again.
