DARROW, John Llewelyn “Jack”, 65, North East Point, passed away unexpectedly Friday, August 21, 2015 at Clyde River. Born in Sandy Point, February 8, 1950, he was the son of the late Fredrick and Joyce (Hamilton) Darrow. Jack began his career at Shelburne Contractors and then went on to start his own contracting business for many years before retiring with Kenney and Ross Ltd. As an avid outdoorsman, Jack loved canoeing, fly fishing and woodworking. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and beloved grandchildren at his cottage in Clyde River. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda (Thorburn) Darrow; children, Christine (Dave Thomas) Darrow, Eastern Passage; Steven (Kelly) Darrow, Hatchet Lake; siblings, Michael (Debbie) Darrow, Gaetz Brook; David (Sheryl) Darrow, Lower Sackville; Thomas (Wendy) Darrow, Shelburne; Daniel (Pam) Darrow, Sandy Point; Susan (Tim) Stephens, Halifax; grandchildren, Jonaven Thomas, Adalynn Thomas; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Sandra Darrow. Cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation Thursday, August 27, from 7-9 p.m. at the H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. The Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 28, at the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington. Interment to follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Shelburne. It has been requested there be family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Rosalin Nickerson Care Fund.
