Lyle Paczkoski

PACZKOSKI – Lyle age, 75 passed away at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current SK. Aug 18, 2015. Lyle was born July 20, 1940 in Sudbury Ontario to the late Stan and Rose Paczkoski. With dreams of a better future, Stan & Rose moved their 3 children Stan, Lyle & Elaine and eventually settled in Masefield Sk. Here, Lyle grew up excelling at track & field, curling and tearing up the dirt roads. Lyle married Shirley Mitchell in 1962 and spent the next few years building roads with LID construction. This built a lifelong friendship with Austin and Irene Harlick. Lyle and Shirley then moved to Windsor Ontario again doing road construction. In 1965 they moved back to Saskatchewan and Lyle worked for Federal Grain in Frontier Saskatchewan. His dream was always to be a truck driver. He bought his first semi and began hauling freight with the Wall brothers. Later he partnered with Eileen Gates to form Swift Current Freight Lines. His career continued with Lyle’s transport, his own dedicated freight line. He later went on to work for SLH and in 2008 was forced to retire due to health reasons. Lyle is survived by the ‘love of his life’ Shirley and their 3 daughters. Glenda (Darryl) Skauge and their children Brett (Suzanne), Tielle (Code) Burki, Tyler & Jaden; Rhonda (Craig) Penner and their 3 children Cole, Landen, & Blake; Heather and children Lacey (Mike) Mehler, Ashley, Kattey, and Zacherey. Also, 3 great grandchildren Noah, Jett, and Oliver. His “little men”. A memorial service was held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Parkside Memorial Funeral Home. The interment took place at Mount Pleasant Burial Park, Swift Current, SK. Donations in memory of Lyle can be made to Kids Sport – Saskatchewan Branch.
