It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our spouse, mother, grandmother and sister on Aug. 22, 2015 in Regina, Sask.
Born in Sydney Mines on Aug. 28, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Neil and Mary-Anne MacNeil.
Theresa is survived by her loving partner, Don Jessome; sons, Chris (Joycelyn), Halifax, Nicholas (Allison), Halifax; daughter, Andrea (Keith) Fort McMurray, Alta. and her beautiful granddaughters, Ciana Marinelli and Jenna Strowbridge. She will also be sorely missed by her loving sisters, Mary Landry, Vaughnie Avery (Jude), Sarah Lamond (John) and Audrey MacDougall (Lawrence); sisters-in-law, Elva MacNeil and Cora MacNeil and friend, Joanne (son, Mike, Marika and family).
Theresa lived in Sydney Mines for many years where she raised her children devoutly and then moved to Alberta and on to Saskatchewan where she has resided the last number of years. She was an excellent cook and will always be fondly remembered for her Sunday spaghetti dinners where anyone and everyone was welcome. She was always ready to share her Bodum of coffee and lend an ear to friends and family. She thoroughly enjoyed packing the kids up for camping trips and weekends at the various family bungalows.
She was predeceased by siblings, Danny, Peter, Johnnie, Elizabeth, James and infant brother, James.
The family are forever thankful to her partner, Don Jessome, for the unending love and dedication he has shown to Theresa during their time together, especially the last year. It is so rare to see such devotion and relentless perseverance, we are forever in your debt.
Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held Friday, Aug. 28, at 3 p.m. at the Paragon Funeral Home in Regina, Sask. A Celebration of Life followed by her burial will take place at a later date in Cape Breton.
Donations may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada, Huntington Society of Canada or charity of choice.
