It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the passing of our mother Martha Elizabeth Blondeau on Aug. 26, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Moses and Catherine (Brown) Neil.
Martha enjoyed reading the holy bible and her religion was very important to her. She enjoyed spending time with her great-granddaughter Dahlia.
Martha is survived by her children, Dorothy (Fred), Rose-Marie, Cheryl, Dr. Joseph (Deborah) and Philip (Karen); grandchildren, Robert, Marc, Melissa, Craig, Scott, Amy, Robin, Brandon, Leah and Sam.
Besides her parents, Martha was predeceased by her husband Jules, sister Dorothy, grandchildren Christopher and Erin as well as three brothers in infancy.
Visitation will take place on Friday, Aug. 28, 2015 at 10 a.m. followed directly by a chapel service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Lieutenant Dennis Maybury officiating. Burial will be held in Hardwood Hill Cemetery, Sydney.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500.
