It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George William Wilson which occurred on August 27, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. George was born in Springfield, NB to the late George and Beulah (Somer) Wilson in December of 1929.
George was a hardworking man who spent his younger years working hard in the woods then on to driving truck. He was a kind and gentle man, who loved his family, fishing and spending time with his friends at the camp. He will fondly be remembered for his sense of humor and his love of cold Alpine.
George will be sadly missed by his three sons; Wayne, Kevin, and Kenneth Wilson, his four daughters; Betty Collrin (Robert Bosworth), Marietta (George) Beaman, Donna Armstrong (John Smith), and Teresa (Edward) Vaughan, brothers; Raymond (Jean), Robert and James (Annie) Wilson, sisters; Edith Urchuck and Phyllis (Richard) Toy, his 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his loving wife Bessie in 2009, sisters Melba and Elsie, brother Manford “Norm”, sons-in-law Dan Collrin and Gary Armstrong and daughter-in-law Holly Gallant.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the Staff of Kings County Home Care Services, Laurie Patterson and Lacey Gallant of the Palliative Care Unit (SJRH) and Karen Bedford for the wonderful care shown to George.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424). Visitation will be held on Monday August 31, 2015 from 11-1 pm. A graveside service will be held at the Lewis Mountain Cemetery, Route 880, Lewis Mountain, NB on Monday August 31, 2015 at 3 p.m.
