PIERCE, Sadie Merinda (nee Toole), 91, of Jordan Bay, Shelburne County, was born in Leicester, Cumberland County on August 29, 1924. She passed away, surrounded by family, on Saturday, September 5, 2015 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital following a stroke. She was predeceased by her parents, Percy and Florence Toole; husband Melvin (1991); sister Miriam Hazelwood and brothers, Merle, Hubert, Ross and Gordon Toole. She is survived by her son, Percy and Gloria (Dodds), Jordan Bay and their children, Jo-lana and Peter Cunningham; Corey and Cara Dawn Pierce and their family, Brooklyn and Layla; Nolan and Elysse Pierce; daughter Marjorie and Gregg Dodds and their children, Trevor and Krisha Dodds and their family, Benjamin and Ryder; Tara and Gavin Dill and their family, Brooke and Koda. Also surviving is her sister, Dollie Ferguson; brothers, Willard, Albert, Earle and Alton Toole. Prior to retirement, both Sadie and Melvin spent their working years at D’entremont Fisheries/ National Sea Products, Jordan Bay. Sadie will be remembered for her kind, gentle heart, warm smile and her strong faith. She will be missed by her many special friends. Visitation for Sadie will be Wednesday, September 9 from 6:30-8:00 pm and Thursday, September 10 from 1-2 pm followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm, all in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 58 Bulkley Street, Shelburne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ocean View Cemetery, Jordan Bay or Jordan Bay Community Hall.
