WILSON, MARION RITA
The family of Marion Rita Wilson wish to advise of her passing on September 9, 2015, at the age of 89 at The Briarlea, after a period of failing health. She was born on June 15, 1926 in Moncton, NB to Harry Hicks and Annie Mae (Maston) (Hicks) Laing.
In 1948, she married her husband, Donald Roy Wilson, and in 1952 moved from Moncton to Shediac, where she raised her family. She worked at Gould’s Fried Clams for many years. When her husband, Donald, was admitted to hospital for long term care, she moved to Moncton to be close to the hospital and visited Donald faithfully until his death in 1999. She loved to travel and took several bus tours within North America and trips to visit her children and grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Marion was predeceased by her husband Donald Wilson, her daughter, Diane Wilson, her sister, Geraldine (Hicks) Belliveau and brother, George Hicks.
Marion leaves behind her children, Cathy Murray (Jamie) of Shediac Cape, NB, Wendy Mazerolle (Guy) of Shediac, NB, Darrell Wilson (Nancy) of Quispamsis, NB, Donald Wilson (Rose) of Fredericton, NB and Kenneth Wilson of Ontario. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, Angela Murray of Shediac Cape, Marcia Clouston of Moncton, Donna Richard of Fredericton, Christine Wilson of Germany, Colleen Wilson of Musquash, Jessica Wilson of Moncton, Jeff Wilson of Ottawa, Andrew Wilson of Saint John, Peter Wilson of Saint John, Ryan Murray of Ottawa, Kevin Wilson of Fredericton, Danny Mazerolle of Cap Pele, Stephen Wilson of Rothesay and Brendan Wilson of Moncton; eight great-grandchildren. Marion is also survived by a sister, Christina Love of Napanee, Ontario; sister-in-law, Verna Cormier of Moncton and long-time friend, Sarah Vansnick of Moncton.
The family appreciates the loving care Marion received from the staff of The Briarlea during her stay there.
The family will be present for visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm. A Service to celebrate and honor Marion’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel at 1:30 pm, with Rick Doige officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment will be held at Elmwood Cemetery.
