The death occurred peacefully surrounded by family at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, of Nelson W. Perry of St. Edward aged 81 years. Beloved husband of Helen Perry (nee Conway). He was born in St. Edward on April 22, 1934, the son of the late Joseph and Aldine (Chaisson) Poirier. Loving father to Donna Marie (Brendon) Gillis, Charlottetown; Dean (Kelly) Perry, Drumheller, Alberta; Mary Ellen Perry, Summerside; and Carol Ann (Paul) Ludington, Summerside. Dear grandfather to Erica, Shawna, Joel, Stephanie, Katie, Matthew, Ryan, Shawn, Heleena, Noah and great-grandson Charlie. He is survived by brothers and sisters Ellen Deveaux, Alberton; St. Theresa Perry, Charlottetown; Rita Poirier, Charlottetown; Alphy (Betty) Perry, St. Edward; Alice (Willard) Mokler; Anita (Bruce) Arsenault; Jenny (Allan) MacDougall all of Tignish; Maurice (Kathleen) Poirier, Mill River. He is also survived by brothers and sisters in-law Teresa O’Rourke; Elsie (Frank) Murnaghan; Timmy (Colleen), Conway; Frances (Ivan) Chaisson; Lucy (Wendell) Cahill; Sylvia (Tom) Sweet; Evelyn Malone; Phyllis Conway; Fr. Greg Conway; Christina (Emile) Gaudet; Maynard Butler and Roger Connors. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Aldine, sister Esther, father and mother in-law Joseph and Mary Conway, sisters-in-law Gertie, Adeline and Mary. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road, Palmer Road, for visiting hours Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held Monday, Sept. 14, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery.
