The family of Cecil Reid, Pasadena, is saddened to announce his passing on September 16, 2015. He was proud to have been born and raised in Baker's Brook and to have served as a police officer with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for 27 years. Many of his happiest moments were spent in the woods enjoying the beauty and peace of the nature surrounding him. Cecil will be remembered with loving hearts by his wife Marjorie, son Byron (Debbie) and daughter Tracy-Lynn. Left to mourn are his sisters Rosie Wong (Oscar), Rhoda Parsons (Ken) and Myra Simms (Clyde), his mother-in-law Freda Wentzell and her sister Hannah Pittman. Cecil is also remembered as a beloved brother-in-law to Delilah, Edie and Susie, Leslie Wentzell (Paulette), Ross Wentzell (Paulette), Boyd Wentzell (Daphne), Brent Wentzell (Michelle), Faye Columbe (Paul), and Gail Hynes (Todd). Cecil also leaves to mourn many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Cecil was predeceased by his parents Corbett and Amy, his siblings: Austin, Clifford, Felix, Violet, Major and Susie Martin, his step-mother Effie, his father-in-law Harrison Wentzell, dear friend Raymond Wilton, nephews: Wayne Major and Paul Wentzell and niece Maureen Atkins. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at St. David's Anglican Church, Pasadena NL, on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015, 2 pm, at St. David's Anglican Church, with Rev. Rosemarie Payne officiating. The burial will follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery, Pasadena. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Parson's Funeral Home and Chapel, Deer Lake, NL.
