TONGE, MURIEL LOUISE
With her family by her side, the passing of Muriel Louise Tonge occurred on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the White Rapids Manor Nursing Home in Fredericton Junction NB. She was 85. Born October 5, 1929 in Fredericton, NB, she was a daughter to the late Harry and Hattie (Chase) Elliott.
A homemaker most of her life, Muriel is survived by five children; Susan Jordan (Andrew “Andy”) of Ripples NB, Candace Mosley (Edward) of Harvey NB, Jackie Stennick (Doras) of French Lake NB, Robert “Bob” Tonge (Roxanne) of Geary NB, Cathy Tonge of Crow Hill NB, nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband Donald “Bud” Cochrane, her second husband John “Jack” Tonge, two sisters Mabel Forest and Thelma Elliott and one grandson Michael Stennick.
The family will receive visitors at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 11 AM in Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment to follow in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery Extension.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions in Muriel’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of NB or to the White Rapids Manor Nursing Home in Fredericton Junction.
Pallbearers for the service will be Patrick Tonge, Jeremy Drummond, Doug Moore, Craig Moore, Kirt Moore and Cody Adams.
