It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we, the family of Annette Tighe, 61, announce her sudden passing on Thursday Sept. 17, 2015.
Annette passed away at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital with her loved ones at her side.
Born and raised in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Gino Angione and Sarah (Fraser) Angione.
Annette was a strong and compassionate soul. Despite her own struggles and hardships, she was always there at a moments notice for anyone that needed her. She loved her family with all of her heart and her grand daughter, Alexis, was the light of her life. She was a thoughtful and caring mother that was always there to lend an ear to her daughters, who will miss her terribly. Annette was strong in mind and body and she fought a long hard fight and her family is so very proud of her. She loved music and could sing and play guitar beautifully. She was a free spirit that loved life and new experiences. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend.
Annette is survived by daughters, Angela Tighe, Rachael (Leonard) MacLean; sisters, Emma (Roger) Embree, Theresa Angione; brothers, Tony Angione, Joey Angione and granddaughter, Alexis Tighe.
Besides her parents, Annette was predeceased by her husband, Pat Tighe, brothers, Johnny (Annie) Angione, Butch (Florence) Angione and sister, Cathy Angione.
Visitation will be held Monday, Sept. 21, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. under the direction of V.J McGillivray Funeral Home 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass will take place Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015 at 10 a.m., in St. Leonard's Parish Church in New Waterford, with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Interment to follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Reception will be held in St. Leonard’s Parish church hall, Convent Street.
The family would like to extend much appreciation to the Cape Breton Cancer Society and the VON nurses for taking such good care of mom in her final days.
