It is with sadness that her family announce the peaceful passing on September 19, 2015, of Mary Nuotio (nee Morrissey) age 72 years, wife, dear mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, niece, cousin, sister-in-law, berry picker, best friend, and helper to so many in her community, at the L.A. Miller Centre in St. John's after a brief battle with cancer. Predeceased by her parents Peter and Elsie, brothers Charles (Patricia) and Peter (Rose). Leaving to mourn her loving husband of 47 years Allan Nuotio, daughter Linda (Lyndon), her two sons Glenn (Niall) and Mark (Julie), and also Mary's treasured grandchildren Katharine and Parker. Also left to mourn are her dear brother David (Geraldine) with their beloved daughters, Lisa, Lynn and Jennifer; Aunt Dorothy Dooley and her son Tony, along with many cousins and other much loved nieces and nephews. Mary will be sadly missed by many life-long friends in St. John's, in Grand Falls-Windsor and in Northern Bay. Her family will receive visitors at Caul's Funeral Home, 84 Lemarchant Road St. John's, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Tuesday, September 22. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday September 23 at 9:30 am at St. Teresa's Church, 120 Mundy Pond Rd, with inurnment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Following Mary's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family are so very thankful for the support from the compassionate staff of the Carbonear Hospital and were touched deeply by all at the Palliative Care Unit of the Miller Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Newfoundland and Labrador Division.
