John (Jack) Glover
John Frederick (Jack) Glover was born on March 14, 1920 to John Gordon and Bessie (Layton) Glover in Portage la Prairie, MB. He fell asleep in Jesus on Sunday evening, September 13, 2015 at the age of 95, in the Swift Current Care Centre. Jack was the eldest of 4 children, all of whom predeceased him… Kenneth, Gertrude (Trudy) and Gordon. He leaves to mourn, his loving wife of 72 years, Lorraine; their 4 children, Geraldine (Howard) Homenchuk of Medicine Hat, AB, Graham (Sharron) of Stewart Valley, SK, James (Jim) (Mary) of Swift Current, SK, Richard (Cheryl) of Kitwanga, BC; 7 grandchildren (Mark, Tania, Paul, Troy, Daniel, Miriam and Jessica); 14 great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In 1943 Jack married Lorraine (Florence Clairee’) Ryan and left for overseas to serve his country in WWII as a soldier. In 1945 he began building their first family home using war rations for building materials, in Victoria, BC where they lived before later moving to Elk Lake, and later on to Sidney, both in BC. Jack worked his entire civilian life in the field of construction. His greatest joys were his family, his church and his garden. He was known for his huge gardens and his generosity in sharing the harvest, for serving the Lord and his church, sharing his faith and hospitality along side his sweetheart for life. We await the resurrection at Jesus’ second coming to reunite us as a family. A service of remembrance will be held on September 24, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Scott Manly officiating.
