1941 - 2015
RICHIBUCTO, NB - Edgar Doucet 74, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Center in Moncton, NB on Saturday, September 19, 2015. Born in Little Aldouane, NB on July 25, 1941, he was the son of the late Jean and the late Marie (Chevarie) Doucet.
Before retiring, Edgar was employed at The Reidpath Co. in Richibucto, E.P. Melanson in Cocagne and at Jardine Park in Richibucto. Edgar was a good husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 41 years, Julie (Doiron) Doucet of Richibucto; his daughter that he loved very much, Yvette Doucet (Norman Peter Paul) of Richibucto and his three grandsons, Jason, Brandon and Robbie Doucet that loved their Pépère very much. Edgar is also survived by two brothers, Fred Doucet (Laudia) of Richibucto, Vincent Doucet (Laurette) of Aldouane; four sisters, Jeanne Vautour of St. Louis, Grace Whitton (late Bert) of Rexton, Claudine Cook (David) of Redmondville, Viola Doucet of Richibucto and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, one sister, Annette Vautour; two infant sisters and three infant brothers.
Visitation will be held at Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, Wednesday at 2:00 until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 4:00 pm, St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church, Richibucto.
The family would like to thank Dr. René Robichaud, the nurses & staff at the Stella Maris Hospital and also Dr. Mathieu Gaudet and the nurses & staff at the Georges-L. Dumont Hospital that took great care of Edgar. Donations in Edgar's memory may be made to the family and would be appreciated very much.
