It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the peaceful passing of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Jonathan Desveaux, age 73, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on Sept. 19, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on July 19, 1942 in Cheticamp, Johnny was the son of the late Willie and Adele Desveaux.
Johnny is survived by his loving wife, Anne Marie (Sampson); sons, Darrell (Wendy), Grand Prairie, Alberta, Todd and Scott, both from Sydney; grandchildren, Chelsea Michele, Morgan-Leigh and Chelsea Donna; sisters, Josephine Para, Estelle (Brent) Stephens, Rachelle (Gerald) Aucion, Patsy, all from Cheticamp, and Phyllis, P.E.I.; brothers, Tom and Victor (Beatrice), both from Cheticamp; as well as many nieces, nephews and good friends.
Besides his parents, Johnny was predeceased by his sisters, Elizabeth, Betty, and brothers, Milton, Georgie and Bill.
As per Johnny’s wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the care and direction of the Pier Community Funeral Home.
A gathering of family and close friends to celebrate the life of Jonathan ‘Johnny’ Desveaux will be held at the Pier Community Funeral Home, Whitney Pier, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street) on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, from 2-4 p.m. Private family burial will commence at a later date.
Donations in memory of Johnny may be made to the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County.
