BABINEAU, ROMEO "BABI"
Romeo "Babi" Babineau, 91, of Pte-du-Chêne, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at the Veterans Health Centre in Moncton following a lengthy illness. Born December 3 1923 in Moncton, he was the son of the late William and Amanda (Richard) Babineau.
Romeo was past owner of Uptown Tavern, Truckers Club, Rogers’ Taxi, and retired from the Blue Circle Tavern. He was also a member of the NB Liberals Association, Knights of Columbus, and a Veteran of W.W.II having served with the Navy.
Romeo is survived by three children: Ross (Marie), Bonnie Savoie (Bill), and Susie LeBlanc (Rick); five grandchildren: Tammy, Christopher, Nicole, Mandy, and Chrisie; five great-grandchildren: André, Joël, Connor, Grace, and Anthony; many nieces, and nephews.
He is predeceased by his wife, Vera née Ross (1995), and an infant son, Peter Wayne. He was the last survivor of his immediate family.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297). Visiting hours Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, 11 St. Andrew Street, Pte-du-Chêne, on Thursday, October 1st at 11 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
