She passed away very peacefully in her sleep. She was extremely happy when she passed away. Beloved daughter of Martin and Anne Goebel, cherished sister of Emilie Goebel and Johanna Dempster, brother-in-law Laurie Dempster. She's the loved auntie of Robert and Isobel Dempster. Adored by her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, her many close friends and her perfect English Springer Spaniel, Lilah and everyone she met throughout her life. In the words of her grandmother Omu, "she put the sunshine in the day." To know Maggie was to know life, energy, fun, jokes, boldness and strength. She was an overachiever and a very hardworking beautiful young woman. Her accomplishments are too many to list but include her volunteering trip to Africa and achieving the Gold Standard of the Duke of Edinburgh Award. She was a practising pharmacist who was extremely devoted to her patients. She was known for her creativity and her free spirit. She is a fighter and was winning her battle with mental illness. She will be forever missed. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA would be gratefully appreciated.
