Lisa Rai Woodrow O’Connor
May 17, 1977 – September 20, 2015
Lisa was born in Swift Current, Sk. on May 17, 1977. She received all of her elementary and high school education in Kyle, Sk. Lisa attended two years of university at the Carlton University, Ottawa, Ont. She continued to finish her post-secondary education and graduated from the Hotel and Restaurant Management program in 1999 at the Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology, Ottawa, Ont.
Lisa’s began working in the hotel industry until she was informed that it could be years before advancement to management position. She started searching for another job and was very fortunate to get a job working for the Government of Canada. Lisa worked at Canada Revenue Agency for 14 years as Senior Program Officer.
These years of her life were filled with many more life-changing events. Lisa was married to Peter O’Connor August 17, 2002. Lisa and Peter were blessed with three lovely children. The twins Luke and Shanelle arrived October 2, 2003 and Mark arrived December 9, 2005.
Unfortunately Lisa’s family were very saddened to have to announce her sudden passing on September 20, 2015. Lisa and Peter’s awesome children made the decision that their mother be returned home to be with her loved ones that are still with us and the family that have departed.
Lisa is survived by Peter and their children Luke, Shanelle and Mark O’ Connor. Peter’s parents Bill and Beth O’Connor; sister Linda and David Wales and family, Shannon and Mitchell McNeil, brother Stephen and Lorinda O’Connor and son Billy; Lisa's parents Rod and Linda Woodrow; her brother Jamie and Jolie Woodrow and family Jada, Emersyn and Kade; sister Miranda and significant other Courtney Hurrell; grandmother Virginia Pittman; aunts and uncles Shari and George Akister and family, Warren and Wanda Pittman and family, Deanna and Brendon Endicott and family, Emily Bergquist and family, and Kandace Valentine and family.
Lisa was predeceased by her baby sister Arlee Woodrow; grandparents Don Pittman and Jim and Anna Woodrow; auntie Arletta Brown (Woodrow); uncles Gary Bergquist and Randy Valentine; and cousin Emilee Pittman.
A time to pay respects and a memorial visitation for the O’Connor family, friends and co-workers was held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Cedarview Alliance Church, Cedarview Road, Nepean, Ont.
Lisa’s Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kyle Elks & Community Hall with Mr. Jim MacNaughton officiating. Donations in memory of Lisa may be directed to Rodney and Linda Woodrow for Lisa's children Luke, Shanelle, and Mark O'Connor's Trust Fund.
