ROBERTA MARY MORRIS
(nee Harrington)
Roberta, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the age of 84 years. Roberta was predeceased by her parents, Edward Harrington in 1957 and Heloise Harrington in 1973, and an infant daughter, Emily, in 1955. Roberta is survived by her ten children: Margaret Yamamoto (Ken), Tom Morris, Dave Morris, Pat Morris (Barb), Roberta Gallagher (Tom), Mike Morris (Sandra), Jim Morris (Michelle), Mary Clark (Jack), Sheila Morris, and John Morris (Heather), thirty grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, sister Anne Harrington (Richard Cummins) and sister-in-law Bernice Kloschinsky (Ray). Roberta was born in Regina on August 6, 1931. She was very academically gifted, attending Regina College and the U of S, completing a B.A and two years of Medical College. She married Fred Morris on December 26, 1953. They eventually settled in Moose Jaw where she lived until 1985. Roberta went on to earn a M.A. in Religious Studies at Creighton University in Nebraska in 1992. Throughout her life Roberta was always present at the things her children were involved in – music, dance, hockey, football, and speed skating. Roberta loved to read, listen to opera and was an accomplished pianist – achieving her ARCT. Roberta also loved to cook and entertain; many people enjoyed her hospitality over the years! We are appreciative to Dr. Mufta and the staff at 4A Pasqua Hospital for the care at the end of her life. We also are grateful to the staff at Pioneer Village Day Program for helping our Mom over the last year. Our mom lived a full life, with many great relationships - we will miss her so much. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martin de Porres R.C. Church, 4720 Castle Road, Regina on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., followed by lunch, and interment at Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made, in memory of Roberta, to the Darke Hall College Avenue Campus Renewal Project.
