Stanley passed away peacefully on Monday, September 28, 2015 at Moose Jaw Union Hospital at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Lynne for over 5 years. Loving step-father of Kelly, Donna (Garnet), Cora (Neil), Jerry (Wyndi), Robert (Charlene); grandfather of Amanda, Graham (Lisa), Derrick (Jessie), Eric (Cassidy), Evan (Shelley), Damon, Caden, Lilly, Kayla (Van), Daniel (Alicia). He will also be missed by 13 great-grandchildren, as well as his sister Louisa (John) and by many nieces, nephews and friends. Stanley was predeceased by his first wife Viola J. Russell (2003), brothers George, James, Thomas, and John. He was born on July 9, 1937 to James and Winnifred Cordick on the family farm near Shamrock, and grew up attending school in Chaplin. Stanley enjoyed horses. He spent time riding, and also worked at the Community Pasture. When Stanley moved to Moose Jaw he began working at Dome Construction, continuing to work for them for 35 years until his retirement. After his first wife passed away, Stanley spent time hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed having his special “pal” around – his dog Carmel (a Texas Miniature Cocker Spaniel). In 2006 at a New Year’s party, Stanley met up with an old acquaintance, Lynne Breti. Their new relationship blossomed into marriage. Their time together as a married couple was short but full and good. They enjoyed Western movies, and even traveled to Deadwood to see many of the famous Western towns. A private family gathering to honour Stanley will be held. Donations made in his memory to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, 1755 Stadacona St W, Moose Jaw, SK, S6H 7K7, or The Lung Association, 1231 8 St E, Saskatoon, SK, S7H 0S5, or in Viola’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre St, Regina, SK, S4P 2R3 would be appreciated.
