HIGGINS, E. IDA
Ida (Hayes) Higgins passed away peacefully at the Sussex Health Center on Monday, September 28th, 2015. Ida was born on June 5, 1929 in Searsville, NB, the daughter of the late Wilbert and Emilia (Lockhart) Hayes, and wife of the late Walter Higgins.
Ida received her schooling in Searsville and Norton, and worked at Black's Fashions and various reatail positions in Saint John.
Ida was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by niece Ruth (Glenn) Brown and nephew Doug (Joyce) Cunningham as well as her stepson Walter Higgins Jr.
Ida was predeceased by her husband Walter; her brother Everett Hayes; sisters: Vida Cunningham and Ethel Cunningham.
Arrangements are in the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506) 433-1176. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1st, 2015 at 11:00am from Wallace Community Chapel. There will be an opportunity to speak with the family from 10:00 am to the time of service.
