Carolyn Churchill (nee Earles) RN

It is with great sadness and a profound sense of loss that we announce the passing of Carolyn Elizabeth Churchill (née Earles), RN, at the age of 54. Carolyn passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving sons and family after a brief but brave struggle with cancer. She is predeceased by her parents George and Rose Earles, brothers Jimmy and George Earles, brothers-in-law, Reg Brown and Bill English, nephew Daniel Brown, and sister Catherine McGrath. Left to honour her beautiful spirit and caring nature are her adored and adoring sons, Timothy Churchill, CPA, CA (Laura Miller) and Cst. Mark Churchill, RCMP (Jenna Douglas) and their father, Doug Churchill; siblings, Donnie Earles, (Laurie), Rosalie Earles, Janice English, Joe Earles (Val), Pamela Brown and Tom Earles (Susan); brother-in-law, Frank McGrath and special friend, Douglas Skinner, as well as her many nephews, nieces, and relatives. Carolyn will be deeply missed by her nursing family, especially her devoted friends and caregivers, Theresa Peacock and Noreen Lee. Her absence will be keenly felt by many nurses, coworkers, doctors, and medical personnel at Day Surgery, Health Sciences Centre. Carolyn was a wonderful and talented nurse, cherished by her patients. She was a ray of sunshine to everyone she worked with. In keeping with her dedication to nursing, Carolyn unselfishly volunteered her time and skills, twice accompanying the Newfoundland medical team humanitarian effort to Haiti with Team Broken Earth. Carolyn's sweet nature and bright spirit will be remembered by all who knew her. Visitation will take place at Carnell's Funeral Home 329 Freshwater Road on Thursday, October 1st from 2-4 pm, 7-9 pm and on Friday, October 2nd from 2-4 pm, 7-9 pm. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, October 3rd at 9:30 am, St. Pius X Church, Smithville Crescent. Internment to follow. In accordance with her wishes, family, friends, and colleagues are invited to join in a Celebration of Carolyn's life at Bally Haly Golf and Country Club, 100 Logy Bay Road on Saturday, October 3rd from 1-3 pm.
