Ralph "Bub" Howlett
HOWLETT, RALPH JOSEPH “BUB”
On the feast of Guardian Angels, October 2, 2015, heaven gained a treasured soul. Surrounded by his loving family, Ralph peacefully slipped into his new life.
He was born on April 1, 1927 to Ralph and Viola (Blizzard). Eleven sisters and brothers looked up to and adored their big brother “Bub”. Ralph was blessed with 88 well-lived years, 61 of which he shared with the love of his life, Joan. Their family of seven children grew to include 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, not to mention the many who have adopted him as their own “Grampy”. Ralph thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, fishing and hunting with his good friends, who we’re certain have heaven’s camp fires burning in anticipation of their reunion. This extremely loving man has touched so many lives. Honest to a fault, generous, hard-working, gentle, kind, fun-loving, and faithful servant of the Lord, Ralph loved fully, and was loved and respected by all, young and old equally.
Ralph is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Joan (McBriarty); son Joseph “Joe” (Susan Coleman); daughters Rosemary Pitt (Gary), Judith Gamble (Gary), Karen Jones (Thane), Denise Howlett (Gig Keirstead) and Francine Baxter (Bill); daughter-in-law Cathy Howlett all of the Kingston Peninsula; grandchildren Kristin and Morgin Howlett, Kendra (Joe) and Lauren (Alex) Howlett, Tim, Angela (Ryan), and James Pitt, Tony (Rebecca), David (Jen), Michelle and Ben Gamble, Isaac, Matthew, Samuel, and William Jones, Rafe and Rivers Keirstead, Maggie, Jake, and Kaleb Baxter; great-grandchildren Tristan, Allie, Christopher, Madison, Nick, Lily and Sophie; siblings Bernice Garnett (David) of Garnett Settlement, George (Vera) of Saskatoon, SK, James (Joanne) of Saint John, Rena Fairweather (Gordon), Carol Logue both of Quispamsis, Joyce Murphy of Saint John and Sandra Wood (Bill) of Clifton Royal; inlaws Betty Howlett and Ellie Howlett both of St. Catherines, ON; many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Predeceased by his parents, granddaughter Hannah Marie Jones, son Christopher Howlett, sisters Phyllis Moore and Dorothy Foote; brothers Charles Howlett and Richard Howlett.
We look forward to sharing happy memories with you as we celebrate his life. Visitation will take place at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road on Monday, October 5th from 2 to 8pm.
