Cyril Trueman

It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Cyril Hubert Trueman, age 87, of Truemanville. Cyril passed away at Northumberland Hall, Amherst on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, with his loving wife Joyce by his side.
Born in Truemanville, NS, he was a son of the late Hubert and Mabel Trueman.
Cyril was a proud farmer, producing hogs, cattle, and blueberries. When he wasn't farming, he was working in the wood lot. He was an honorary member of the Truemanville Fire Department. A former director of the Baie View Co-Op. A member of the Sunrise Trinity United Church, the Federation of Agriculture an early 4-H Member, and a strong supporter of the 4-H. He was a man partial to all things red, be it trucks, tractors or politics. Before everything, he was a husband, father and grandfather.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, the former Joyce Fisher, Truemanville; children Brian (Joan), Truemanville, Glenn (Susan), Charlottetown, PE, Ross (Karen), Cole Harbour, NS, and Marlene (Arnold) Furlong, Fall River, NS; 8 grandchildren, Mark and Beth, Corey and Kristen (Spencer), Shelby and Ryan, Kirk (Sylvia) and Bradley; 2 great grandchildren, Quinn and Kai; sister Joyce (Reginald) Davis, Fredericton, and nephew Greg (Vicki) Davis and family.
Predeceased by his brother-in-law Donald Fisher.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 2 pm, Ruth Gamble, DLM officiating. A reception will take place at Furlong Jones Reception Centre followed by a committal service in the Truemanville Cemetery.
Those wishing to make a donation in Cyril's memory may do so to the Cumberland Hospice Society, the Parkinsons Society or the Truemanville Cemetery.
