PITRE, EDOUARD "EDDIE"
1930 - 2015
Edouard “Eddie” Pitre, 85, of Moncton, passed away on Monday October 5, 2015 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born on April 11, 1930 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Georgina (Cormier) Pitre.
Eddie was the founder and president of Évaluations Edouard Pitre Appraisals Ltd. in 1979 (AACI). He was a former employee of the Federal Department of Transportation for 20 years, commissioner of Codiac Transpo board of directors, member and president of the Moncton West Riverview Rotary Club and recipient of two Paul Harris awards, member of the Moncton Headstart board of directors, vice-president of the Greater Moncton Sewage Commission for 24 years, member of the Caisse Populaire Lewisville board of directors for 15 years and member of the finance committee of Christ-Roi parish.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dolorès (Melanson); four children: Monique Brisson (Claude), Eric, Charles and Marc (Manon); two grandsons: Marc-André and Jérémie; one great-grandson, Jack; two sisters: Marie-Thérèse Foster and Muriel Chan; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one sister, Eva; four brothers: Neri, Jean-Marie, Henry and Paul.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Christ-Roi Roman Catholic Church, 300 Dominion Street, Moncton on Saturday October 10, 2015 at 10:30 am. A reception will follow at the funeral centre. Interment will be in Frenette Columbarium, Moncton.
In memory of Eddie, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation (oncology) or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.

Au CHU Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont le lundi 5 octobre 2015, est décédé à l’âge de 85 ans, Edouard “Eddie” Pitre. Né le 11 avril 1930 à Moncton, il était le fils de feu Joseph et Georgina (Cormier) Pitre.
Eddie était fondateur et président d’Évaluations Edouard Pitre Appraisals Ltd. en 1979 (AACI). Il avait été employé au ministère des Transports pendant 20 ans, commissaire du conseil d’administration de Codiac Transpo, membre et président du Club Rotary de Moncton West Riverview et récipiendaire de deux prix Paul Harris, membre du conseil d’administration de Moncton Headstart, vice-président de la Commission d’épuration des eaux usées du Grand Moncton pendant 24 ans, membre du conseil d’administration de la Caisse Populaire de Lewisville pendant 15 ans et membre du conseil des finances de la paroisse Christ-Roi.
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse depuis 63 ans, Dolorès (Melanson); quatre enfants: Monique Brisson (Claude), Eric, Charles et Marc (Manon); deux petits-fils: Marc-André et Jérémie; un arrière-petit-fils, Jack; deux sœurs: Marie-Thérèse Foster et Muriel Chan; plusieurs nièces et neveux.
Il fut précédé dans la tombe par une soeur, Eva; quatre frères: Neri, Jean-Marie, Henry et Paul.
La famille recevra les condoléances au Centre funéraire et de crémation Frenette, 88, rue Church, Moncton (858-1900) vendredi de 14h à 16h et 19h à 21h seulement. Les funérailles seront célébrées en l’église Christ-Roi R.C. Church, 300, rue Dominion, Moncton le samedi 10 octobre 2015 à 10h30. Une réception suivra au centre funéraire. L’inhumation se fera au Columbarium Frenette, Moncton. En mémoire d’Eddie, un don à la Fondation CHU Dumont (oncologie) ou à une œuvre de bienfaisance au choix du donneur serait apprécié.
