Thank you to the C.B. Post for their consideration to Veterans- To our thoughtful and kind neighbours (especially Barbara and Gerard) to the paramedics who always treated Peter with compassion and respect. To Peter’s St. Esprit family Ken and Isabel Ferguson and children. To the MacLeod’s (Grand River Store) Bill and Norena. Bill you know Peter was the undisputed Mayor of St. Esprit. For Mass offerings and building fund, sympathy cards and on-line condolences from N.S. to B.C. and Europe.
To Peter’s family Doctor Janusz Wawrzyszyn urologists, Doctors Dale Miller and Ken Rent. The staff on 4C of the C.B.R.H. for their care to Peter during the times he was their patient. To the Homecare Workers who for 2 years looked after Peter at home with such kindness, efficiency and good humour, thank you all for making his confinement that much easier. To the VON who came in to look after his special needs always with warmth and much laughter. To the Staff at the Harbourview Hospital in Sydney Mines (Veteran Wing) thank you for making a pleasant home for Peter this past year. To Dr. A Wawer his staff physician to the RN’s , LPN’s and trainees, who with loving, considerate and humorous attendance made his stay with you so comforting for both of us, a thousand thanks. Thank you to the domestic and housekeeping staff. To the night phone operators who always accepted my calls with such kindness. To Kaye and Walter Ingraham-Kay who spent so many hours sitting with Peter listening to stories of his early life and sharing some of her own-thank you dear friend. To Walter who was always there to deliver me through storm and sleet and/or whenever I needed him –thank you. To Adrian Murphy a special person to us, he never, ever forgot to see Peter on his birthday and whether by providence or coincidence was our first visitor each New Year. At Peter’s Memorial Mass; thank you to Janet Hawthorne-Eucharistic Minister Wayne Joseph and Bernie LaRusic our altar servers-our nieces Maria Morrison and Wanda Pierrymowshi who did the readings so well. To Maria for her fetching and delivering. To Wandzi who was at my side every day for the entire week to do what had to be done, which I’d never have managed without her. To our magnificent Polish Choir, soloist and director, there’s no hymn you’re unable to sing that makes us the listener, feel we’re a little closer to Heaven. To our Pastor, Father Paul Murphy who saved me great anxiety by selecting the readings for Peter’s Mass, chosen by one who understood Peter’s spiritual feelings and a homily that was written from a knowledge of the man Peter was, thank you so very much Father . To Kay Violande for catering and hosting the reception with her delicious refreshments. To the Pier Community Funeral Home for their tasteful display at the entrance to the church and the presentation in front of the altar. It was so elegant in its simplicity. Thank you to Bill Laurie who took care of all the paperwork required at that time and saved me so much confusion. My heartfelt thanks for making the lifting of a pen my only responsibility.
