The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, P.E.I., on Sunday, Oct. 11, 201, of Gerald Francis Gallant of Summerside, aged 83 years. Gerald was born on Kelly Road, P.E.I., to his late parents Sylvain and Mary Ann (nee Arsenault) Gallant. Beloved husband of the late Doreen (nee McNeill) Gallant and loving father of Theresa Grady (James) of Hamilton, Ont., Sharon MacDougall (Jimmy) of Grand River, Janet Ross (Chris) of Summerside, Gerry (Tracy) of Cambridge, Ont., Gail Johnston (Bill) of Summerside, and Jason (Melissa) of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by his 16 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, Gerald was predeceased by his sisters Lena Gallant and Rita St. Onge, his brothers Albert, Leo, Leonard, Melvin and Fred. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, until Thursday, Oct. 15, then to St. Paul’s Church, Summerside, for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the Church Cemetery. Memorial donations in Gerald’s memory to the Summerside Salvation Army Food Bank would be greatly appreciated.
