It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Roger Hawkins (age 70) on October 11, 2015 at Saint Michael's Hospice. He passed peacefully after suffering from his fourth stroke. Born in Glovertown, NL, he spent much of his life in Mississauga, ON, Squamish, BC and Surrey, BC. Roger enjoyed many years working as an Engineering Drafter with BC Hydro until his retirement in 2012. A loyal member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Roger will be remembered for his strong character, unique sense of humour, and his zest for life. Roger is survived by his wife Shirley, daughter Nancy (Paul Fournier), two grandchildren (Nathan & Lily), son Danny, and three sisters (Shirley, Mona, Anita). To respect Roger's wishes there will be no memorial service. Flowers are gratefully declined in lieu of donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. In the words of one of Roger's favourite songs: "It's something unpredictable, but in the end is right, I hope you had the time of your life"
