WALSH, PATRICIA (GALLANT)
1933 - 2015
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia (Gallant) Walsh, 81, after a long illness, on Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Moncton Hospital. She was recently a resident of Auberge du Soleil in Dieppe, and formerly of Seaforth, Ontario. Born November 14, 1933 in Bathurst, Patricia was the daughter of the late Amatus and Florida (Haché) Gallant.
Patricia did her schooling in Bathurst and graduated in grade 11 with high honours at Sacred Heart Academy in 1949. An excellent quiet student, she became an exceptional and devoted teacher who was loved by all her students. She taught at different levels from primary grades to Teachers’ College during her teaching career. Patricia loved music, reading and traveling with her husband Bill.
She leaves to mourn three sisters: Julia Bourgeois (Roger), Sylvia Roy (late Ronald) and Gemma Bouma (Gerald); four brothers: Wilfred Gallant (Freda), Marc Gallant (Elly), Yvon Gallant and Réginald Gallant (Betty-Anne); her sisters-in-law: Kate Aslin and Rita Coombs; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, William “Bill” (2009); one sister, Lillianna McLaren (Ken); two brothers: Gilles and baby Yvon.
By request, there will be no visitation at the funeral centre. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Roman Catholic Church, 87 Murphy Avenue, Moncton on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 11 am. Interment will be with her husband in Seaforth, Ont.
