1937 - 2015
Delisle “Des” Saulnier, 77, of Moncton, passed away on Sunday October 18, 2015 at the Moncton Hospital. Born on December 10, 1937 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Edouard and Hortense (Belliveau) Saulnier.
Prior to his retirement, Des was a land surveyor with the Engineering Department of the City of Moncton. He was a 3rd Degree member with the Knights of Columbus, a past member of the Credit Union, and a lifetime member of the Moncton Press Club and the N.B. Land Surveyors Association. He enjoyed playing golf and pool with his best friend Bliss Noiles as well as traveling and spending winters in Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Yolande (Jaillet); three children: Marc, Lisa Lefrançois (Phil) and Nicole Gauvin (Luc); three step-children: Monique Savoie (Junior), Mark Richard (Chantal) and Gaétane St-Coeur (Gaétan); five grandchildren: Josée, Jessica, Micaël, Julie and Janelle; one sister, Jill Grigg (Joe); one brother, Henry (late Katherine); several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters: Margaret Mercer (Scott) and Lynn Saulnier.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Roman Catholic Church, 858 Mountain Road, Moncton on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 4 pm.
