CAIL, MARION JEAN (nee ROBERTSON)
(1931-2015)
MAIN RIVER, NB – It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dearly beloved mother Jean on October 18, 2015 at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent. Born in Main River on May 16th, 1931 to the late William and Georgina (nee Ells) Robertson.
Before retiring, Jean was employed as a Domestic Engineer, also a cook at the Rexton Lions Nursing Home and a farmer’s wife her whole life.
She leaves to mourn, three children, Jackie (Janice), Jane (Blaine), Wayne (Jeannie); grandchildren, Jocelyn (Ralph), Justin (Jessie), Kirk, Kent (Tanya), Krystle (Jeremy); four great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois (Bernie), Norma (Boyd); several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend Paul, as well as sisters-in-law, Helen (late Amos Logan), Eliza (late Joe Lageman) and Joan.
Predeceased by the love of her life, Roy; parents, William and Georgina; brother, Robert; daughter-in-law, Elmire; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Eva and Russell Warren, Isabel and Aubrey Weatherby, Sanford and Joan Cail, Austin and Eileen Cail.
Mum lived life to the fullest, she and dad travelled a lot and had many trips to Florida, loved horse racing and had a fondness for Standard Bred Horses. She loved music and dancing, writing poetry, all things nature, especially bird watching. Jean was a terrific cook, friends and neighbours were always welcome, as the Tea Pot was always on, but family always came first, as Mum was always there for all of us. She was a member of the Women’s Guild, USA Standard Bred Horse Association and Golden Age Club.
Remains resting at Thompson Funeral Home with visitation on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11:00 am, Zion Presbyterian Church, West Branch. Officiating will be, Reverend Sandy Sutherland. Interment will be held at the Zion Presbyterian Cemetery following the service.
Donations in Mum’s memory may be made to the Zion Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund.
Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
