t is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allan 'Al' Strachan, originally of Framboise, but most recently of Sydney, N.S. Allan passed away comfortably at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015.
Born March 25, 1952, he was a son of the late Soutter and Edith Strachan.
Allan was a carpenter and many neighbours and friends received advice and assistance from him with his skills of the trade. Interests include, woodworking, fishing and spending time at the country home in Framboise.
Allan is survived by his two children, Christopher Wall (Tanya) and Leah Marie Campbell (Phil) and grandson, Jaxton Campbell. He is also survived by his sisters, Marjory Davis (Gerald), Linda, Jeanette, Edie (Steve) and brother, Donald (Ursula); nieces and nephews, Dan, Eric (Mia), Jeff (Elizabeth), John (Brianna), Phil (Nicole) and Tamatha; grandnephew and grandniece, James and Morgan.
In addition to his parents, Allan was predeceased by his sisters, Dolores Strachan and Rebecca Strachan Coatsworth.
The family would like to thank the Continuing Care Coordinators, VON nurses, Cape Breton Cancer Center and Palliative Care services for the quality care he received during his illness. We would also like to thank the residents of 955 George St. for all their kindness and consideration.
A memorial will be held next summer, Aug. 2016, when family and friends will be present to celebrate his life.
Memorials in memory of Allan may be made to the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton.
