MURPHY, EMILY
Emily Jenny Murphy of Fredericton passed away peacefully at the York Care Center on October 25, 2015. Emily was born in California Settlement, NB on November 8, 1939. She was the daughter of Blanche McLaughlin (Kinney) and the late Whitfield McLaughlin.
Besides her mother, who is also a resident of York Care Center in Fredericton, Emily leaves behind her son Jimmy Polas of Meriden, CT; her brother Lloyd McLaughlin (Barbara) of Davidson Lake, NB; her sisters Joyce Knight (Terry) of Newport, RI, Vada Buckingham (David) of Gail Ferry, CT; Doreen Griffeth (Paul) of Limestone, ME.
She was predeceased by her father; her husband Jack Murphy; and her sister Joanne Barkley.
Emily loved to cook, was an avid reader, and also loved animals & told long fictional stories. Emily leaves many nieces and nephews which she loved to care for when they were younger. She had a special place in her heart for her great niece, Gracie Curry.
There will be no visitation by Emily's request. A graveside service will be held at the Donovan Cemetery, California Settlement, on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 1 pm. Rev. Thomas Barkley officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover.
Emily's family would like to thank the staff of the York Care Center for the kind and compassionate care given to Emily over the last few years.
