OTTO HEIN

OTTO HEIN

Born: February 17th, 1940

Passed on: November 1st, 2015

Otto was born in Bessaraiba, Romania to Regina and Samuel Hein. As a young boy, Otto and his family immigrated to Canada and settled in southern Alberta.
In the early 1970s he moved to the Sunshine Coast and started his own autobody business, Westview Autobody. It was during this time he met and married his second wife, Ann. After living and working in various places on the Coast, Ann and Otto settled in the Halfmoon Bay area.
Otto was known along the Coast for his talented craftsmanship and was the proud builder of two custom homes and two beautiful sailboats.
Ann and Otto enjoyed their time sailing from as far as Alaska down to California. Out of all their travels, Secret Cove was their favourite spot to stop. After Ann’s passing, Otto moved to West Sechelt where he enjoyed spending time golfing, helping out at the marina and finessing his cars. Otto was predeceased by his wife Ann as well as his eldest daughter Angel Hart. He is survived by his daughter Toby (Greg) Sobuliak, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Otto will be fondly remembered for his witty sense of humour and eagerness to help his friends, family and community.
Those wishing to share in a celebration of Otto’s life are invited to do so at 1 pm at the Sechelt Botanical Gardens (5941 Mason Road, West Sechelt) on Saturday, November 7, 2015. During the celebration, friends and family are encouraged to share their happiest memories of Otto.
The family would like to express their many thanks to Dr. Reznick and the staff at Sechelt Hospital for their care and kindness.
