FLANAGAN, ANN MARIE
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ann Marie Flanagan of Tobique Narrows, NB announce her passing at the Dr. George L. Dumont University Hospital in Moncton on November 4, 2015. Ann Marie was born on May 30, 1965 in Grand Falls, NB. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Eva (Finnemore) Baker.
Ann Marie leaves behind her loving husband Gerald Flanagan; her children Brogan Flanagan and Briah Flanagan, both of Tobique Narrows; her mother-in-law Barbara Flanagan of Belledune, NB; brothers and sisters-in-law Mark Flanagan (Myra Firlotte) of Halifax, NS, Kevin Flanagan (Vicki) of Saint John, Shawn Flanagan (Michelle Casey) of Saint John, Cheryl Berlattano (Robert) of Oakville, ON; along with several nieces and nephews.
Ann Marie was predeceased by her parents; her baby daughter Breanna Flanagan; her sister Diane Baker; brothers Fred and Robert Baker; her foster brother Guildor Lemieux (Shirley).
Ann Marie was an enthusiastic, dedicated psychologist, a member of the College of Psychologist of New Brunswick since 1997. For the past 13 years Ann has spent most of her professional career with the Tobique First Nation community where she was embraced into the culture of that community. In 2014, at a ceremony in Halifax, Ann was recognized for her dedication to the survivors of residential schools.
Along with her professional career, Ann was an exemplary mom and caregiver. Her family was her driving force in her every action. Ann was well known and respected as a fun and dedicated hockey and soccer mom. She contributed greatly to the young athletes in the community. Ann and her daughter Briah earned their brown belts in Kung Fu. Spiritually, Ann was a devoted Catholic and volunteered in her church community.
Regardless of what Ann was doing personally or professionally, she brought much love, energy and laughter to her endeavors.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 1 pm from St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church. Father Gilbert Doddatto will celebrate, assisted by Father Curtis Sappier. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
For those who wish, memorial donations to the Southern Victoria Cancer Assistance Fund or to a local food bank would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover.
